“The Biggest Loser” Contestant Names Columbus Behavioral Center Employee “Top Loser”

COLUMBUS, Ind. – (March 22, 2010)Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, hosted a facility-wide health and fitness challenge inspired by Allen Smith, a Columbus Behavioral Center employee and former contestant on NBC’s reality show “The Biggest Loser.”

Gene Wise, Columbus Behavioral Center employee, was named “Top Loser” and awarded a cash prize for a total percentage weight loss of 10.05 percent. Neighboring PSI facility, Valle Vista Health System in Greenwood, Ind., also participated in the competition.

“We are very proud of Allen’s success on the show as he inspired employees like Gene and many others with the challenge of living a healthier lifestyle,” said Kelly Ulreich, chief executive officer of Columbus Behavioral Center. “The facility’s weight loss challenge was a great mix of competitiveness, motivation and encouragement as several employees battled for the coveted title of ‘Top Loser.’”

In its eighth season, Allen Smith lost 118 pounds on “The Biggest Loser” and inspired a facility-wide health and fitness challenge at Columbus Behavioral Center and Valle Vista where the employee with the largest percentage of weight loss among their colleagues would be crowned “Top Loser” and win a cash prize.
